Executive summary

WG-CIMS (the Music Imaging working-group) is focusing on the Multimedia Music Imaging aspects of the network. This working group is interested in all processes of a digital music document library life-cycle, exploring the issues on the digitisation, representation, restoration, image processing and automatic transcription of music documents; digitising paper-based music scores and manuscripts, in order to explore effective use of the latest interactive and multimedia technologies for cultural heritage restoration and preservation of music scores and manuscripts.

Lord Mayer of Leeds, Councillor Taggart was presented the WEDELMUSIC 2003 proceedings and discussed MUSICNETWORK related Music Imaging activities at his recent visit to ICSRiM, University of Leeds. [Photo] (the picture on the right shows the Lord Mayer with a high-resolution imaging system recently installed in ICSRiM lab2 and the picture on the left shows Dr Kia Ng, Director of ICSRiM and Councillor Taggart, with the 3D motion tracking cameras in ICSRiM lab1)
